Where does the time go...

The last couple of weeks have been manic. I've doing everything and nothing.
Moved into new apt - loving it. Except feels like its going to be a scorcher in summer. Work. Work. Been working long hours, funking my mind and my being. I still get up, go to work and come back. Really confused about what the future holds. Will be staying on in India? I just dont know. Digital PR is interesting, one can just get lost in all the creative things that agencies abroad are up to, except the market hear is still at nascency.

Hmm, more thoughts later. Back to work.

And so the wheel turns...

Every morning I realised that I now have a routine going - get to work by 8.30 so I have 1hr to 'do' me. i.e. check out my fave blogs (usually the gossip ones - hehe I'm superficial) - LOVE kanye west's blog, also log into BBC 1xtra to listen to some real hip hop and keep abreast of the latest beats out there then ofcourse must do the serious grown up thing and read the current news (always useful for contributions to discussions @ social gatherings) - THEN the office officially opens @ 9.30 and the hustle and bustle of the working day in Delhi begins. Ah to be full grown...

She doesn't speak english..what to do eh??

Every day I am witness to the dynamics of culture as we know it. Just when I think yep this is it, finally I got it, 'it' smacks me right in the face and I'm left dumbfounded yet again. As case in point - a couple of weeks ago landlord pretty much spent all weekend in our apt ('our' being servane-ji and I). ANYWAY...I'm very fortunate in that my landlord's family is well traveled. A point they like to tell me over and over and over again! anyway turns out perhaps progressive mentality is like a cup of chai - some like it sweet, others like it strong others just dont like chai. well here I am trying to say the customary namaste to my landlords wife and he turns around and says to her "speak woman, say hello! how'r u??!" then he turns to me and sheepishly smiles "hehe, she doesn't speak english - what to do" - WHOA! For some reason, whenever Ilook back on that sunday afternoon it brings a wry smile to my face.

Pisces:You can make anything happen this year if you banish the fear and use a little elbow grease. The only thing holding you back is your self-perception, so realize your own self worth and get to work achieving your dream! (Elle, January 2008).
It’s almost end of May 2008, and this is my second post. Sad, I know. In my defense I must be honest enough to say I’ve never been good at maintaining journals. The first and last diary I had was when I was 10 – even then I only religiously wrote in it to create fantasies about how my first crush would realize that I was the 5th grader for him…that and it was wonderfully scented - a fusion of rose and baby breath me thinks.

Anyway so much has happened. I’m the same yet I’m not the same person who arrived here 8months ago. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve over-indulged in material pleasures and I’ve learn’t to take a time out to seek life’s simple pleasures; I have learn’t to distinguish a problem from a real problem (ongoing process) and more!

Well, I’m getting back on track and I’ve decided that I want to develop this blog as an extension of myself. I want to learn discipline instead of simply watching things happen around me and to me. I need to take back control. Hello Taj, hello Ganges, hello Sarojini, hello mum, family past/current/future friends – hello world!

This is my space. Welcome.

From the the place I was born - the majestic house of stones - where the rumbling of the approaching thunderstorm sends shivers down ur spine and the aftermath leaves you replete with the euphoric smell of...the earth – cleansed and alive; to the years I spent in the land of the Hereros and Namas – Namibia, to my first trip abroad ALONE to set up three years of my life in Australia, to the land of the Vikings, H&M, Absolut Vodka, Volvo and paternal leave (hehe), to the home of flamenco, tapas and Zara, to here...

My first post from this land they call Incredible India. Thus far it has been quite the journey indeed...
